Mostly quiet on the western front.

Last Thursday I got called into a meeting and asked if I would take on a new Position. I'm not yet completely certain of what I'm expected to do, and frankly, I don't think anyone else knows either.
There are three fragmented departments all having to do with some sort of display and/or promotional materials production. They are now to be consolidated and come under my management. This means that I have to leave my lonely little outpost in the basement and move into a more populated area where there will be people around to do what I tell them to do. I have to learn just what it is that I need them to do though, while convincing them that I am their supervisor, and yes, it is up to me to decide what the priorities are. One in particular is not very happy about this. He'll learn though.
There is lots of stuff to move around and rearrange, including getting a computer line to my new desk area.
So, I guess I'd best stop blogging and start working. Exit stage left...
