Ken Pagano, the pastor of the New Bethel Church in Louisville, KY, recently invited his congregation to bring their unloaded firearms into the house of worship to “celebrate our rights as Americans!”

He shoots regularly at the local firing range, and his sermon two weeks ago was on “God, Guns, Gospel and Geometry.”

After a comment yesterday when I mentioned a certain american religious group, I thought I'd share another religious practice that takes place in some parts of America. Even though it is illegal in all but 1 of the 50 states.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. —Mark 16:17-18
They prefer to call themselves serpent, rather than snake handlers as they use only poisonous snakes in their religious services.

They are often associated with pentecostal or baptist sects but prefer to be thought of as non-denominational christians who follow the teachings of the king James version of the bible.
